Imagine Possible
Ecosystem Event 2022

Today, the merger of the digital and physical world are fueling ground-breaking innovations, breeding new technologies and transforming whole industries.

What new ecosystems will be formed and where do we want digitalization to take us next? If you’ve asked yourself these types of questions, we invite you to bring your knowledge, ideas and creativity, and join other leading technologists, industry innovators and thinkers at Imagine Possible, a two day event on the future of connectivity powered innovation, hosted by Ericsson.

At Imagine Possible, we bring together digital crafters from different domains, allow perspectives to clash, because that is how ideas are born.

Together we will explore, co-create, and shape foundations for new ecosystems and businesses based on connectivity. All participants bring their own unique skill and expertise. We at Ericsson will bring unique knowledge, practical tools and forward-leaning ideas from our R&D that will change the way we look at mobile networks beyond telecom usage.

As the leading mobile network company, we know the power of interconnecting people, businesses and whole industries – technically as well as socially.

Business impact demo session with the Subject Matter Experts

The life of a car - a 5G for Business journey

IoT is no longer just a concept — it’s a driving force enabling enhanced automation and processes across industry verticals. Take transport, for example, where use case innovations such as connected ports leveraging IoT can deliver on new shipping efficiency needs. Or look to the automotive industry, where IoT is there to guide the vehicle life cycle from production (complete with factory-standard connectivity enhancements), smart operation in vehicle-to-everything (V2X) cityscape scenarios, and even to its final moments, where fully automated vehicle recycling plants generate a green life cycle ending.

Today, Ericsson is at the forefront of this IoT journey. Join us to learn more about our range of IoT products and services designed to help industries, service providers, and global vehicle manufacturers meet this new range of demands.

Speaker: Jon Gamble, Business builder

Ericsson Spectrum Sharing

Ericsson Spectrum Sharing is a technology breakthrough that enables operators to build their 5G network differently to any previous G. For the first time, operators can fully leverage existing investments in spectrum and infrastructure. ESS provides a way to build coverage with fewer new sites, in less time. Infrastructure savings can be invested in wider 5G coverage and increased

capacity for new use cases and an enhanced end-user experience.

ESS bypasses the need for new or re-farmed spectrum, which many operators struggle to access. Instead, ESS software simply enables spectrum in existing 4G LTE Frequency Division Duplex bands to be dynamically allocated to 5G NR within milliseconds and according to demand. This allows operators to roll out 5G with minimal impact on existing user experience, while still increasing efficiency, boosting service assurance and greatly enhancing network performance and mobility.

Speaker: Jon Gamble, Business builder

5G core – high performance user plane

Between 2019 and 2025, mobile traffic is expected to grow annually by 27 percent, while the average revenue per user (ARPU) is expected to be steady. Meanwhile, deployments continue to be moved toward cloud-based core networks to reduce total cost of ownership and to increase service agility.

Through the cloud native high-performance user plane delivered by dual-mode 5G Cloud Core, the cost-benefits needed for capital and operational expenses can be a reality. Additionally, it is well-suited for both single and multi-server distributed and cloud deployments due to its flexible, containerized software architecture, making it the ideal choice.
Learn more about what Ericsson is doing to deliver end-to-end 5G core systems with cloud native user plane implementation addressing the total cost of ownership challenges.

Speaker: Jerry O'Leary, Head of User Plane

Energy Infrastructure Operations with the Ericsson Operations Engine

How do CSP's scale their operations teams to cope with the more complex demands of new services such as 5G, Network Slicing & IoT? How do CSP's manage the escalating costs of energy consumption and the associated costs of maintaining power supplies to sites? How do CSP's optimize operational complexities and transform from reactive/incident driven towards predictive data-driven IT operations? How do CSP's deal with capacity issues that will degrade performance and user experience as traffic grows?

The Ericsson Operations Engine reduces costs across the organization, from network design and daily operations to the development of infrastructure and applications. By employing a range of advanced capabilities, it drives efficiency at nearly every level, reducing lead times and modernizing business processes.

The Ericsson Operations Engine reduces not only OPEX, but also targets CAPEX, enabling service providers to make targeted investments with surgical precision to maximize impact.

Speaker: Gökce Alacadagli, Service Portfolio Director

Climate action

Ericsson drives partnerships with our customers and key industries to provide effective tools and solutions for tackling climate change.

Through enhanced connectivity, we support transformation of industries like transport and manufacturing to increase their efficiency, drive down electricity cost and reduce emissions, so that our customers and partners can accelerate the reduction of global emissions while optimizing their businesses.

For network modernization, Ericsson supports service providers to "break the energy curve" by developing innovative solutions that meet the future network demands, while simultaneously reducing the energy consumption of the network

Join us to find out more about the impact of technology solutions and modernization of networks can achieve a transformation in the society, creating a more sustainable, connected world.

Speaker: Mats Pellbäck Scharp, Head of Sustainability
